Ingredients
Method
- If using fresh turmeric, peel the thin outer skin with a spoon and finely grate the turmeric. If using ground turmeric, simply measure the required amount.
- Add the turmeric to the honey along with a pinch of black pepper.
- Stir until everything is fully combined and the mixture is smooth.
- Transfer the paste to a clean airtight glass jar.
- Refrigerate if using fresh turmeric. Ground turmeric versions can be stored in a cool, dry place.
Notes
- Fresh turmeric gives a brighter flavor, while ground turmeric is a convenient alternative.
- A small pinch of black pepper complements the turmeric without overpowering the taste.
- Always use a clean, dry spoon when serving to help keep the paste fresh.
- For a quick wellness drink, stir 1 tablespoon of the paste into 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.
- Store fresh turmeric paste in the refrigerator for 1–3 weeks. Ground turmeric paste lasts longer when kept in an airtight container.
