Ingredients

  • 3 medium chicken breasts about 1½ pounds
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter divided
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh chives or parsley chopped (optional)

Method

  1. Score the top of each chicken breast with shallow crisscross cuts.
  2. Season both sides with salt and pepper, then lightly coat with flour.
  3. Melt part of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the chicken for about 5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4 minutes until nearly done.
  5. Add the remaining butter and garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  7. Simmer until the glaze thickens, turning the chicken to coat it evenly.
  8. Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Spoon the glaze over the chicken and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

  • Score the chicken lightly for faster, more even cooking.
  • Avoid overheating the honey glaze, as it can burn quickly.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing to help retain its juices.
