Ingredients

  • Olive oil spray or avocado oil spray
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup room-temperature water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Lightly grease two ceramic ramekins with cooking spray.
  3. Add ¼ cup room-temperature water to each ramekin.
  4. Crack one egg into each ramekin.
  5. Place the ramekins into the air fryer and cook at 360°F (182°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Carefully loosen the eggs from the sides of the ramekins using a teaspoon or small spatula.
  7. Return the ramekins to the air fryer and cook for 1–2 more minutes, depending on your preferred yolk consistency.
  8. Gently slide each egg into a fine mesh strainer to drain the excess water.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Fresh eggs produce the neatest shape and the best texture.
  • Room-temperature water works perfectly—there’s no need to pre-boil it.
  • Every air fryer cooks a little differently, so use your first batch to fine-tune the cooking time.
  • Don’t overcook the eggs. They’ll continue to cook slightly after being removed from the air fryer.
  • Ceramic ramekins provide more reliable results than silicone egg cups.
